It seems perfect also to fill the hole between the 2 actual Brooklyn skylines!

Skylines within skylines within skylines. Skyline Inception!

https://66.media.tumblr.com/579cce2c...gcsfo5_250.gif

Lots of nodes with respect to skylines that would hold against most places.

LIC... DoBro... Greenpoint/Astoria ... Jersey City (the Miami of the NJ) ... the Gold Coast (NJ) ... Midtown, Lower Manhattan, everything extending North of 59th street to Upper Harlem ... Flushing (queens) ... soon to be the Bronx waterfront district (keep an eye on the Bronx folks, its exploding right now with development and those waterfront parcels look very very promising pipeline wise).

Following Years-Long Prep, Downtown Brooklyn Supertall Rises Over Dime Savings Bank Dome

by Cate Corcoran
Aug 6, 2020

Quote:

[After Landmarks green-lighted a supertall melded to the iconic Dime Savings Bank in Downtown Brooklyn in 2016 — raising preservationists’ eyebrows — years passed with little evident building at the site. Finally, after years of prep and foundation work, construction started around the beginning of this year.

As the city shut down in mid-March because of the pandemic, crews stayed busy at the site, taking precautionary measures, developer JDS Development Group told Brownstoner at the time. Because the development contains affordable housing — 20 percent of the rental units will be affordable, as per the 421-a tax break requirements — its construction is considered “essential” and exempt from the shutdown.
Quote:

Now the skyscraper has risen to about eight stories, about double its height in late May. From the vantage point of Fulton Street, the tower can now be seen peeking over the top of the dome of the Roman temple-like former bank.

Designed by prominent firm SHoP Architects, the spire will alter the skyline of Brooklyn and change the feel of historically low-rise Downtown Brooklyn, bringing the borough one step closer to Manhattan-like density and height.

Rising pretty fast now, but I Just can't wait to see it topped out. Once it passes Brooklyn Point in height, it will become the icon of Brooklyn.

Has the curtain wall/facade mock-up been built yet, I am curious what it will look like in reality. (not the digital renders)

This is probably the most beautiful tower going up in NYC right now if not the States.
