I saw you also added Delta*, also very well done!

*Apparently not a Delta anymore, but the new brand has not been made public yet.

What's the point in keeping a Courtyard secret.

On a more serious tone, what are the chances of a Ritz? Lot of condos and rentals to service. Units probably won't be cheap either. So much depends on a developer's willingness to meet the criteria on the Ritz brand too.

Yes of course!

Sometimes I wonder if I will get tired of all this, but I don't think so.

... sounds more and more like a JW:tup:

$650-700sqft blended average for units.

Very excited for Massey Tower and for all the development along Yonge Street along with the historic restoration. If it is anything like FIVE we are in for a treat. Yonge Street is going to be such a different place in a few years. I read an article yesterday about the city looking at widening the sidewalks on Yonge as the population on the strip is expected to explode.

By far the most difficult project to photograph right now just because of the depth of the hole. The excavator down in the hole that you can just see behind the orange facing, has a jackhammer tool attachment and is going deeper.

^I love the density in that first shot, just wow! Every bit of space is used, whether it be for a building, a road, a park, etc... In Ottawa we are used to having wide open spaces and grass or fields everywhere. :(

The second shot made my OCD twitch a bit with the tower being under construction being slightly rotated or "off-balance" from the podium... Makes the design a bit more interesting I guess but there's a part of me who just wants to realign it so badly! haha :hell:

caltrane74 Oct 7, 2015 8:31 PM

Even with that efficient usage of land down by the lake, there are still a lot of parking lots down there. You can even see one in that shot.

koops65 Oct 8, 2015 5:12 AM

Come on Cal... that parking lot will become 81 Bay...

caltrane74 Oct 8, 2015 10:41 AM

Actually, I think that is 60 Harbour. But, I get your point.

I believe the Port Authority owns that lot and the small building in it.

Some Port Authority staff believe major changes will occur if either the Liberals or NDP get elected federally. That lot may get sold off to developers within 3 or 4 years (federal land needs to be declared surplus for something like 12 months before an actual sale to a non-government agency).

caltrane74 Oct 8, 2015 2:18 PM

I can't believe the feds still hold land in downtown Toronto, outside of the naval/army bases.. There is really no reason to own.

That land is as expensive as hell. They might get $100 million for it by the time they sell it off to developers.

That site is also the perfect spot for a mega-tall tower over 400 meters.
