Great 'hood! I'd live there in a snap.

Fascinating stuff, looks very neat.
Now that's a stairway.. http://img142.imageshack.us/img142/1...19shgmpak2.jpg |
Great tour forateoh! I don't get over to goose hollow very much so its good to see how it looks. Maybe 23rd/Northwest is up next in the photo tour? :) Thats my favorite area...

Those apartments you like are fordham i believe.
|
^ You are correct.
^^ As usual, I don't know what's up next. I will definitely do Northwest at some point. |
Looks great!
That looks like Portland's closest comparison to Seattle's Capitol Hill, minus the baseball stadium and rail. I've heard Hawthorne compared to Capitol Hill but to me Hawthorne is more like Wallingford. There's just something about hills, and stairways in lieu of streets, and moss. |

Man this really makes me miss living there. I used to live on King Ave. and my favorite building is the one on King and Burnside with the quarter-circle balconies. Love that neighborhood. Although it is a bummer walking down Burnside... too many cars and too narrow of a sidewalk. Great pics!

Very cool neighborhood and I would also live there in a snap!

every time I see picks of the hills of goose hollow it reminds me of this video http://youtube.com/watch?v=2u6u2wlzv40
p.s. how do you embed videos into a post |
awesome city - thanks for the tour.

Hey, I can see my house from here. :) I live in the building about a block uphill from the Subway shop, with the maroon awning, along Burnside (photo #29-30). Love this neighborhood ... Burnside's a little in-your-face traffic-wise, but everything you need is within a few blocks around here. Thanks for the great photos, esp. the blurred MAX trains, always cool-looking. I really like the first shot overlooking the ball park to the Pearl District -- you capture these neighborhoods so well. Oh yeah, the two other Starbucks are the 24-hour one at Uptown Shopping Center, and a new-ish one next to the Civic condos, where Blockbuster used to be. Wouldn't want to go over 8 blocks without one of those...

I love those walkups....
and houses on hills. Reminds me of Manitou Springs, Co.

Didn't know that Kudzu could grow like that in the Northwest, learn something new everyday, lol. Nice pics, I love Portland's neighborhoods, and can't wait to visit one day. Good job on the pics  |
Thank you so much for the Portland neighborhood thread that you are doing. The pics are fantastic.
I was born and raised in Portland, but have not been there in 30 years. I have a great deal of nostalgia for Portland, and looking at these pictures brings back some great memories. I also would love to see the 23rd st. Lovejoy, Overton, Wallace Park areas done, as that is where I grew up. Thanks again for the great photos, and the great memories. Patrick |
Portland is cool and I enjoyed your pics.
