Saint Vincent Hospital - Erie, Pennsylvania
Founded by Sisters of Saint Joseph in 1875 (now a part of the Allegheny Health/Highmark BCBS conglomerate)

i was born here, but the fancy brick entrance structure out front wasn't there in the '70s.

i currently live 7 miles almost due south of my birth hospital.

Family moved out west when I was 4. My family has been slowly bleeding out of Illinois since the 1970's to California, Las Vegas and Arizona. A couple ended up down in Dallas, and one in NYC

As of this writing only a couple of Cousins remain in the old country.

Of course we weren't there for very long, my whole family moved from Poland between the wars. Somebody obviously saw the writing on the wall :cheers:

I was born at Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, a northern suburb of Detroit. The hospital was opened in 1955. They have a few hospitals around metro Detroit now.

I came from St. Michaels hospital in downtown Toronto. It was established in 1892 by the Sisters of St. Joseph (this is an old photo, the corner there has a new 17 floor tower for the hospital):

St. E's in Utica...the first person I 'saw'...was a nun.

Oh my gosh, that must be traumatizing.

I was born in Saint-Germain-en-Laye, a western burb of Paris.
The first person I met was probably a regular nurse of the French welfare state. Thankfully.

I can't find any pic of the hospital. It must be uninteresting anyway.
Or it seems like it merged with that of Poissy, the neighboring suburb where St-Louis himself was born some 800 years ago.

I swear I hate hospitals. They smell like medicine and death.
It'd be easier and cheaper to give birth downright in one's home.
Still with a nurse, of course.

This was the former building, sometimes called the "Hospital on the Hill" before the medical center moved to newer facilities elsewhere on the base.

In a bit of sibling rivalry, my brother was born in a strikingly beautiful hospital...

Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. I was born in the wing on the left. My grandmother was a nurse here and she helped deliver me.

I worked in the ER there for awhile. That place is a mess. Much happier at Henry Ford now. They were in the process of building a completely new ER at the time though so hopefully now it is better. They are hard on staff though.

St Joseph Hospital in Pontiac Michigan. It looked a lot different then obviously.
