cristo de la habana (b. 1958) - located in suburban casablanca across the bay from old havana. interesting that on 1/8/59, the very day castro entered havana during the revolution, the statue was hit by lightening & it’s head exploded. it was quickly repaired.

Thanks for posting. Havana is such a glorious and exciting city. It is my preferred winter holiday destination. I can never get enough of it.

Nice to see pics of Havana in its current form. I have a feeling it will be in for some big changes in the future.

:previous:It's has not changed in many decades, and I don't see it changing in the near future. It's like my favorite pair of old comfortable worn sneakers my mom tried to get rid of or replace.......Timeless.......If there was a drastic change it would lose it's allure. Granted it does need a facelift/cleaning but not replaced or changed and the cars are also part of the picture.
