Awesome public use of architecture.

Very amazing and entertaining. But a little gaudy/tacky/touristy at the same time.

Looks great this year as well, I wish I could see it in person.

Fantastic!

That is so awesome. Although how were they able to do that? Isn't there some kind of danger of the fireworks shooting into the building?

That is very very cool.

i wish the empire state building did a thing like that

WOW! that was awesome!

That can work because the building stands alone. If a cluster of tall buildings ends up being built around it, then it won't be so easy to do that kind of thing.

This is so dope. I wonder how much shit they have to clean off of the building after this.

Great building should have more views for a building that was once the worlds tallest.

Insoluble Apr 25, 2013 5:14 PM

I guess it gets overlooked since it's not the tallest anymore. Height aside, I think the overall aesthetics of this one are very nice (It's certainly a much nicer building than the previous record holder the Petronas Towers). I really like that the design has some cultural context and symbolism, and the segmented look is pretty unique. I can see how some might find it a bit tacky though.
