Theres the ENB mod which is a ddl file that you place, and a config with settings and it adds a bunch of new graphical settings from improved HDR, sunshafts, ambient occlusion, and so on.

Some pics with it on:

I think I probably still have some of your stuff on an old disk somewhere.

hahaha, I still have SC3000, but I lost all of my buildings and skins and stuff to HD crashes several years ago.

The developer of Cities: Skylines, Colossal Order, previously developed Cities in Motion 1 & 2. I've installed the second installment (it's on Steam, and available for Linux :) ). Quite addicting for anyone who likes transit. It's like Transport Tycoon, but for cities! It takes a little while to get into, it's not entirely uncomplicated, but it's a great game.

I might be developing a city game with a friend of mine using Unity Engine. Currently teaching myself the unity version C++ and figuring out the licenses for the engine. Essentially, the goal is to develop a open platform city builder using the principles of SC4, but in 3d. Good thing is that buildings could be created using 3ds Max and transferred to Unity.

We might use the Steam Greenlight when its finished and make it as a alpha game in development. Steam workshop could be a source for building lots and plops. Already have a friend of mine working on the music and me and another one gonna do the programming. Programming is a bitch though. So much syntax.. ughg

Instead of using the bastardized small plots in the new sim city, unity allows for large maps and procedurally generated. In the order of 10km by 10km or more. Goal is to develop a planet sized area that would function as the metropolitan area like in SC4. Also, with 3dsmax as a source, and the sc4 lot plugin which we acquired permission to use, this would have 1000's of structures.

Its a side project, but hey, who knows, could go big. :)

From what I heard, Cities XXL eliminated the memory leak issues and upped the processor core optimization which plagued other titles. Mods are compatible with a certain plugin for the new title.

Getting pretty sceptical of Cities Skyline as launch draws nearer..

A 9 man development crew and lots of micro DLC doesn't exactly impress..

This is crazy. I'm having a hard time seeing how it's possible, given the way SC4 models were rendered and constructed. Especially that Apple Store model, with various transparency and such.

It took me some time, but the more videos I see off Cities: Skylines the more I get hyped about tomorrow when it releases..

I really wish their had a more futuristic and modern building and infrastructure design, but that aside it looks really neat, customizable and free )

THats what will make it great, the mods. Once they start rolling in by the droves, it will be amazing. Definitely looks like an improvement over Cities XL and XXL.

Glad they added trains. Something that was kinda missing from Cities XL.
