More density coming to the Queen West/Dufferin area. This is excellent news, the mid-rise projects in the area (initiated by Steetcar Dev) are turning this area into a mini-Freedville. The elimination of the Dufeferin Jog has done wonders in turning this crappy area relevant again.

Temple of boom? The new owners of The Zen Buddhist Temple at 297 College Street want to redevelop the site into a 15-storey condo and 20,000 sq. ft. retail space. Naturally, neighbouring Kensington Market residents and retailers aren't too keen on the idea. BY: STEVE KUPFERMAN MON DEC 5, 2011 LOCAL NEWS Quote:

That design looks very promising. I always wondered when HK would finally enter the Canadian market. I love the pattern on the glass and terrace gardens and of course the streetscaping.
But they couldn't have picked a worse location imo. This would have been stunning around King and Spadina or would have added some excitement to the area south of Yorkville. |
