"There's no place like it in North America. An enchanting village of brick-lined streets, inviting courtyards and Victorian architecture. A vibrantly restored 13-acre historic site that's one of the province's hottest tourist attractions. An area completely closed to traffic and home to live theatres, galleries, fashion, design and jewellery boutiques, unique cafes, and award winning restaurants. This is The Distillery Historic District - a clearly magical place to live, work and experience all that life has to offer.
Clear Spirit is easily accessible via public transit and is located just a short distance away from the Gardiner, Lakeshore and DVP. The St Lawrence Market and the shops of Front Street are just a short stroll away, as are the eclectic home furnishing shops of King Street East. A few blocks beyond you'll find the financial and entertainment districts, the Eaton Centre and the shops of Queen West. The Toronto Islands are also only minutes away, and soon, the Gooderham will be connected to the revitalized East Bayfront and West Don Lands with its rolling green parklands, walkways and bike trails connecting to the waterfront."

How tall will the Gooderham be?

Travis007 Sep 18, 2011 12:24 PM

Gooderham will be 36 floors and 122 m.

caltrane74 Sep 18, 2011 2:08 PM

Cool. I guess we can include Gooderham updates in this thread.

Gee whiz luck I made this thread then.

Distillery District looks really good. - These towers will do a lot to improve the pedestrian traffic in this part of town. Could become a more happening place in the future, which is what I'm looking out for.

Sorry the pictures are a little blurry, it's hard to keep the camera still when it's really windy.

I think this tower will be appreciated more, the closer it gets to completetion.

vegeta_skyline Dec 10, 2011 2:47 AM

Maybe, but once its complete I doubt it'll receive much attention at all. Just like its older sibling.

caltrane74 Dec 10, 2011 3:55 AM

It can be appreciated and then/still forgotten.

Clear Spirit from earlier today, approaching from the north-east in Corktown. This is becoming quite the happening little area. Good to see the east end getting a little love these days.

Looks really good in that shot.

Classic Toronto, in more ways than one, and I'm not even talking about the hydro poles.

Lol!

I'm sure this tower will do wonders for the Distillery District, and especially in adding some height to that part of Toronto. But I can't help but be unimpressed with the look of it. I'm open to admit I'm wrong once construction is finished, but so far it's just not doing it for me.

caltrane74 Feb 7, 2012 6:08 AM

I think this tower looks better an better the taller it gets. The subtle curves are very beautiful.

Understated Elegance!!

Thanx for the pictures!

Distillery District won't be the same again.

Robertpuant Feb 17, 2012 4:13 AM

Is there another tower planed in or near the Distillery District?
