DENVER | 1650 Wewatta Street | 230 FT (70 M) | 21 FLOORS
Not too much has been going on in Denver recently that is of a significant height, though we have a ton of infill in the mid-rise range. However, this proposal for the Union Station redevelopment (more information HERE) is the first of several towers that will be popping up in the area (images courtesty of Denver Cityscape:

It is being developed by Holland Partners and the architect is Shears Adkins + Rockmore. The project is currently scheduled to break ground in Q42012. |
The first building permits have been submitted to the City for review.
Here are a few more renderings: http://www.denver-cityscape.com/imag...tta91212-3.jpg http://www.denver-cityscape.com/imag...tta91212-4.jpg http://www.denver-cityscape.com/imag...tta91212-5.jpg |
I'm not trying bash or anything, but could Denver get a propsal that DOES NOT have a flat or flat-ish roof. Denver's skyline, while decent and dense, really needs some pop to it and the Four Seasons disappointed.
Anyways, decent looking propsal, sans roof. |

Final renderings from DenverInfill. Looks like they made it more seamless between the floors and took the red out.

That's a nice building. I really like the color and that roof line is nice.

Ooo I like it. Very Nice...

Site prep has begun on 1650 Wewatta. A trailer and construction equipment has moved on site!! :D :D
(The site is just to the left of the currently under-construction train canopy) http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8364/8...7daf7680_b.jpg [My Photo] |
Great to see some more infill in Denver, particularly in this neighborhood. But, why the hell are they putting a three level parking podium directly next to the (amazing looking) transit center they're building? Seems counter productive.
|
This is 288 units and about 260 parking spaces per DenverInfill....better than some cities require, but isn't this meant to trend toward transit users and pedestrians?
Still, good project. |
