Just as a side note the Moxie's Classic Grill to be built in DC is going to the URB this month to get their liquor liscense. The restaurant is supposed to be built on "vacant" lot on the corner of Commodore, Hwy 118 ramps and Countryview. |
Moxie's is almost finished. It doesn't look half bad. Never eaten at one either.

Henry’s Camera focuses on move to Dartmouth
By BILL POWER Business Reporter Thu. Jan 8 - 4:46 AM Toronto-based Henry’s Camera, the photography and video equipment retailer, is coming to Atlantic Canada. Staffers with the chain, which operates throughout southwest Ontario and in Winnipeg, confirmed Wednesday the business has selected a location at Dartmouth Crossing and expects to open a digital imaging centre in the spring. The Dartmouth Crossing website also says Henry’s will soon be a tenant. An exact opening date hasn’t been determined. Planning is also underway for a store at a second location somewhere in Atlantic Canada, according to staff with the chain. Henry’s is a family-owned operation, which bills itself on its website as Canada’s largest independent provider of photographic, video and digital imaging equipment. The company has operated since 1909 and in recent years, has expanded to 26 outlets in southwest Ontario. It also recently opened two outlets in Winnipeg. Henry’s is also a significant online retailer of photographic and digital imaging equipment. Several new businesses are preparing to open or have recently opened at Dartmouth Crossing, according to the website maintained by the shopping, dining and entertainment complex. Starbucks recently opened an outlet there. Costco has said its recently constructed Dartmouth Crossing store is scheduled to open in March. The discount chain also has a store at Bayers Lake Business Park in Halifax. And Hampton Inn & Suites has indicated reservations are being accepted for its hotel for May. The list of tenants in the process of opening or which have recently opened at the shopping area also includes CIBC, Moxie’s Classic Grill, Subway and Wok Box. ( bpower@herald.ca) |

DC is coming along nicely. Work continues on Phase II of the village, Hampton Inn & Suites has been completed on the outside and is taking reservations for May 2009. Subway and nearby buildings are coming along and more stores are opening monthly. The back roads (Finlay area) are now open and work continues on stores nearby. Costco is expected to open in March, CIBC is being built across the street and down the street Moxie's Bar & Grill is almost complete on the outside. Quote:

Moxies is okay - sort of like Milestones I guess |
Never been to Moxie's here in Vancouver. I didn't realize it was a national (or international?) chain. As far as I know, Milestones is just a BC or Western Canada thing.

I was more excited for the Baton Rouge restaurant that was listed by Dartmouth Crossing as coming soon...but it's no longer on the web site. I wonder what happened.

Given the Maritime connections, I think expansion of Baton Rouge into the region, both to Halifax and Moncton would be a no brainer. |

I was just looking on DC's website and apparently Moxie's and Wok Box have opened. I wonder if they got the rest of the exterior letters up on Moxies? ;)
|
Wok Box? Sounds interesting..

I was just wondering where I would have to go to buy a good wok.
i wrote a paper a few months back about Imvescor. According to one of their regional managers, Baton Rouge is geared to be a higher-class version of Mikes Restaurant. The plan is to expand into the bigger markets first, starting with Halifax, and probably not long after, Moncton. At the same time, they're rebranding Pizza Delight to be a classier family-style restaurant. Scores and Mikes are to fill out the budget end of the spectrum. |
