Didn't really connect with Osaka I have to say. Great food, but it felt off for some reason.

Onn Mar 31, 2013 6:37 PM

Not as bright or as busy as Tokyo, but I'm sure there's still plenty to see and do there. Great shots, keep them coming!!

pallo Apr 3, 2013 12:46 AM

I liked Osaka more than Tokyo actually because it feels more urban, more pedestrian friendly and more green spaces to hang out

From what I've seen of this place, Osaka seems to be the little more conservative version of Tokyo. That river canyon is so beautiful. It's like Japan's spin on Amsterdam...

mello Apr 4, 2013 5:11 AM

Great set, not really any quality scrapers IMO here though.

well Japanese modern architecture is generally aesthetically boring. What makes japanese cities interesting is the urban vibe at the street level

Sometimes I feel like Japan's cities look like what might have happened if the 1980s had lasted for 30 years and New York had kept growing and growing with the same sort of aesthetic, if that makes any sense. I'm not entirely sure why, but I'm in love with that building where you can go BOWLING BOWLING BOWLING and also take your car in for PARKING PARKING. I want to be there.

Coldrsx Apr 4, 2013 9:38 PM

^^ we walked across that bridge from shinosaka to dontonburi

Architype Apr 5, 2013 7:50 AM

Thanks for the thread, I loved it.
From the colorful commercialism to the bridges, to the skyscrapers to the beautiful blossom trees.
It's all marvelously entertaining and sublime.

Beautiful shots! Thaks for sharing, pallo!

My favourites are those with the blossom trees. Spring in Osaka must be very nice. I like your pics of pagodas and the modern city too. Great views.

Congrats and greetings from Madrid, Spain!
