It is nice to see a Staunton Thread on here. I really enjoy Virginia towns. Most Virginian towns I travel to are historic, clean, and beautiful. I especially like the I-81 corridor towns along the Blue Ridge.

great tour, you covered a lot of ground in an hour.

One of my favorite small cities in Virginia. It's not as lively as Charlottesville, but their downtown has so many great old buildings.
Sounds like you have the same constraints I typically have when travelling. My wife and kids allow me a little bit of time to check out and photo cities and towns, before the complaints start. Your results are very impressive! |
Staunton has such great bones. I sort of wish it and Charlottesville were combined into 1 larger city, though. They both have something the other needs.
Anyway, this building is a parking garage. One of the better examples of masking a garage to look like something else that's around. |
^ Yep, great bones. Staunton is one of those kind of hidden little urban places that are a pleasant surprise when you visit. Good stuff kc, thanks.

Staunton is a wonderful little city.

Thanks for the comments so far!! I had absolutely no idea that Staunton had such a great stock of buildings. Not just downtown, but in and around the city. We had to get going about an hour later, but I could have easily stayed there twice as long. I noticed several buildings off in the distance that I would have loved to check out!! Oh well, maybe next time!!
