Anyone have a render of what the Fortis Reclad will look like? I only remember what it was supposed to look like when they were supposed to build that 15 storey tower right next to it.

I've seen one, but it's so old, I don't know if it's accurate.

I think that image is still accurate. It's both newer and better than their proposed reclad that accompanied their 15-storey building proposal

^ Awesome. And that left side of the building IS the current, windowless West side, yes? There's no way it could be any other side based on this view?

EDIT: Just realized it's totally the Water Street view, yes? So the west side isn't shown... will windows be added there? Please say yes?

Hopefully! Whatever the outcome it is an overwhelming improvement over the current!

Perhaps not as noticeable as the others, all 5 TD Centre Towers are being repainted and having new windows installed which would make this the most expensive re-cald on the list after FCP.

I have no idea why, but Winnipeg is under going a tonne of reclads at the moment. I can think of at least half a dozen on hand, all of which right downtown. Broadway has had at least one building being reclad at a time in the last 5-6 years. Also most of our apartment complexes are undergoing major overhauls. And when I say most, I mean most. Rent control has owners renovating so they can up the rent come contract renewal. Literally every agency in the city is going for overhauls, interior and exterior. So the cities list of oldies are starting to look new. Here is another:

It may not look it, but the new facade is far and away better than the old. In terms of 160 Smith, and this as well, it isn't necessarily the reclad that has me excited, but the renewal of the Podiums. Both have been made much more pedestrian friendly, in terms of aesthetics, access, etc.

There are 2 or 3 more on Broadway alone (not including residential) that are currently being reclad.

I will also have to get pictures for you guys of our biggest reclad yet. 180 million I believe, for Winnipeg's finest. Our boys in blue (or black, or what ever colour they wear) are moving into our old postal office building. It is going from original to complete glass facade. Looks great compared to the original. Although I personally think less headaches would have occurred had they built from scratch.

I like the curved glass atrium at the front, if they put that on the old building it would have looked great.

Servus Credit Union recently underwent a reclad/reimagination that I was apart of. (top new/bottom a former DELL call centre that even after 2 years was having so much thermal bridging that it was deteriorating the internal steel beams). The original building also had sunshades on the north side.... but none on the south... so we fixed that.

Thunder Bay city hall is really unfortunate.

What building is that?

Toronto city hall's window replacement is pretty much done I think, I don't have any photos but the new dark windows look pretty sharp to me.

Hamilton's City Hall also got a new facade, can you notice the difference?
