San Francisco Spring Views - Bc It's Been A While

Recent photos of my neighborhood in SF and other areas of the city, as well. Almost all photos are from Sunday evening stroll on June 1 (including views from two different apt roofs). I have quite a vast collection of photos of the city that haven’t been posted, but decided to get some on here as my computer recently crashed and what better place to store photos than online!

My neighborhood, where Russian Hill meets Nob Hill meets Pacific Heights meets Polk Gulch.

Fantastic!

Lucky you to live there. I applied for a job in the Bay Area a couple months ago, but didn't get it.

great pics, thanks!

My favorite kind of thread, thanks for sharing! Such a great city. Nice ad for Budweiser too, they'd probably be happy to use those shots :)

Excellent photo tour of our city!

Surrealplaces Jun 5, 2014 4:08 AM

Excellent photo thread of an excellent city!

Wow... that was a beautiful tour of a beautiful city, thanks for sharing! What kind of camera are you using? The clarity and color are fantastic. My wife stayed at the Hotel Vertigo not too long ago and enjoyed it.

chris08876 Jun 5, 2014 8:43 PM

Very nice set. You captured the density very well. I love pic #65. The fog in the distance. ;)

San Francisco is a place of sheer, take-your-breath-away beauty and is the most urbane place in the country to boot.

mSeattle Jun 5, 2014 11:55 PM

That's a BIG city. If it had super narrow streets it would feel like Istanbul.

Thanks, Canon Powershot SX 30 IS, decent little SLR, but nothing as fancy as some of the better photographers on this site use ;)

loving the architecture of the building at the center of #38. great photos; can't believe i haven't made it out west yet. has to happen soon.

one of the best SF threads I've seen and yes, you are a lucky guy. Still hard to grasp that Nob Hill and Tenderloin are next to each other. I've stayed at the Huntington Hotel before and it would be hard to imagine staying in another area of the city . Incredible pictures of an amazingly beautiful city. I just came back after what seems like my 20th visit and in a few more years I wont have to leave , i'll be living north of the city and will be able to hop on the ferry and go when ever I want. The most beautiful city in America hands down:worship:

I'm going there in august and I CANNOT wait, I'm so excited!

Any tips for a guy visiting SF for the first time?

i think the first time you go to a place you have to see the main touristy things and you can find those out anywhere. Here are a few that may not be as well known

1) must go to Marin Headlands in the mountains behind the Golden Gate Bridge, there are two viewing areas, one higher than the other. Go when there is no fog so not in the summer:haha: This is the first thing i tell people to do when they ask me. You simply HAVE to go. The view will blow you away

2) walk the Embarcadero from AT& T park all the way to where VanNess Ave ends

3) Buena Vista Cafe for Irish Coffee, its at the Cable Car turnaround near Fisherman's Wharf

4) Alamo Square

5) Climb the hill at Bernal Heights

6) walk across the Golden Gate Bridge

7) i know its well known but has to be mentioned. Go take the audio tour of Alcatraz, its incredible

8) Ferry Building, be hungry

9) take the ferry behind the Ferry Building to Sausalito ( i like the Larkspur one too)

10) Drinks at Top of the Mark (Mark Hopkins Hotel on Nob Hill)

shakman Jun 12, 2014 9:08 PM

Simply amazing. Thanks for the comprehensive tour.

I recently gathered interest in San Francisco. I'm considering living there if I ever move west. It has beautiful architecture blended with beautiful topography.

mthd Jul 14, 2014 6:50 AM

Nice shots!

We are neighbors, or nearly so. i'm on pacific a few blocks west of you, pictured very obliquely in one of the first shots. (assuming you live in the building across from cheese plus.... or at least have access to its roof ;)
