I think dunnhumby probably didn't want to wait for a developer for the residential component and hurried things along.

Construction is supposed to start on the office building in early 2013.

Well, it looks like the building at 5th and Race will be pretty short:

It looks like the the developer is reviving the old Fountain Square West proposal just accross the street:

Local media is still reporting 15 to 20 stories... I guess we'll find out on Thursday when they break ground.

Some details from todays urban design review commitee meeting:

- Leeper said corner of 5th and race will be restaurant, other 3 ish store front spaces are yet to be determined.
- Building will be entirely concrete. (hoping that means more CAC and less crosley tower) Interior will be lots of concrete and glass.
- Retail floor is 22 feet, 14 feet garage and office floors (roughly 134 feet tall on 5th street side, 120 on 6th street side)
- Already confirmed plans are designed so that they grow downward into the three floors above the storefront.
- Two entrances to office- one on 5th is the dunnhumby entrance. guests would go up to 9th floor which is main lobby- then walk down through the floors. Second office entrance on race 1 storefront from 6th. This is entrance to Kroger Finance division (or something like that) which is apparently going to be housed in 30k square feet of office space at this location since Kroger headquarters are full.
- Building will not be flat on the race street side. there will be some balcony type spaces on the various floors along with other facade elements that make it vary.

Someone from 3CDC gave a presentation to one of my thesis classes yesterday. She showed us some more preliminary renderings of the interior of the Dunnhumby building which haven't been released yet. They're definitely interesting. In a good way. I'll be excited to see more finished renderings (hopefully soon).

Dunnhumby proposal to expand into parking space moves to council vote

The view from dunnhumby's bottom floor

Excavation has been completed, a pair of cranes are on site, and steel installation has begun. Still no rendering of what the building will look like.
