Minecraft
I'm new to posting on the forums (although I've been following this for years). Well I'm happy share my city on Minecraft. Minecraft is a first-person player game where players build with blocks. Although I'm not finished with the city I would love to take suggestions from others. All creative buildings are original so there's no recreations besides the typical buildings you see. I differentiate residential, office, and hotels with different styles of building. If you want to visit the actual map, find Minecraft classic and join the server "Z II" and type /g pm_kelbeen.
Also, if you want to share your Minecraft creations feel free to share them on this thread also! :) Edit: Please one photo per post. I will update this as the city progresses. Enjoy! |
YES! I love building in minecraft. My brother gets pissed off at me when we play because all I do is cheat materials to build. But I have nowhere near the kind of pateince it takes to build one skyscraper let alone an entire city.
Anyway awsome job on your city! |
Wow! I guess I just suck at the game because I couldn't even begin to do that.

Thank you for your post Funkie! Excellent effort and patience you got there. Are you using Creative Mode? Your recreation of Los Angeles City Hall is truly a masterpiece. Do you have anything else from L.A.?

Nowadays if im building something really tall ill use mcedit to copy and paste similar floors. http://i47.tinypic.com/2iqboyt.png The city Hall is the only LA building i have so far. Visiting LA for the first time last summer inspired me to build it. I might build some la inspired buildings in the future though! |
I am helping out with some other guys with this certain replica of a certain city at the moment

I love the last two photos because of the limited color pallet you used. It looks really awesome. |
Fantastic!! :D Minecraft is a great game and you've for sure mastered it!

I feel as if my minecraft city is a piece of poo now :'(

I found Z II thanks to kelbeen :). His maps are really cool, and have a lot of depth. When you visit them. He has added a lot of stuff to his new city.

I used to play a ton of minecraft years ago. All I wanted to build was skyscrapers. It was a huge PITA though. I ran a server with tons of mods (who remember's bukkit? That was the best / last of the mods I used) but still with the height limit at 127 blocks and ground being about half that, scyscrapers weren't easy.
Here's a shot of the city we had started building. That tan / blue building was inspired by 60 Wall St. It featured an 8 story underground gold vault. The big white block is a pretty sweet performing arts theater. Also, under water / ground we had an elaborate city accessible through the base of that tower at the end. That golden domed building was a central train station which access the full subway system that ran around the map. The Burj Al Arab is on the island to the right. The brick building was a library. The building in the bottom right was Wayne Manor. Also, since you couldn't go to the nether back then in multiplayer, we actually recreated a HUGE swath of nether underneath the water to the right of that picture. The entrance was from the aforementioned underground city. It was pretty crazy. We started building a post-apocalyptic city in there too. Not pictured to the right of the shot was a walled medieval city that featured a hotel, garment shop, tavern, and royal chambers. All of this was about a month's worth of work for 3-4 people. http://i.imgur.com/sR8b7VQ.jpg |
