[Burnaby] Highline | 177 m | 48 fl | U/C

Highline Metrotown is a new development by Thind Properties
currently in preconstruction at 6811 Sussex Avenue and 6525 Sussex Avenue, Burnaby. Highline Metrotown has a total of 327 units. The taller 48 story tower will be 158.5 meters tall. I think this will be the tallest on Beresford, although that is dependent on the height of Sun Towers 1. As Spr0ckets had said, the lantern on the top motif is a bit overused, but this will be a great addition to Beresford regardless.

Thanks for starting this thread.
This should be an interesting project to keep track of - especially as one of the only projects in the Metrotown area currently under construction with any significant non-market housing component.

It's proceeding briskly through excavation right now and they should start laying in the footing concrete and parkade levels in a few weeks time.

This tower also needs its own thread to maintain interest. Feel free to add 158.5 meters to the thread title.

The social housing component has been funded by the Province:

Doesn't show as well in the picture, but this pit is REALLY wide and deep. 4/28/19

Does anyone know when this project is scheduled for completion?

The marketing billboards they have posted up at Skytrain stations in the area seem to indicate 2021.
But they don't say when in 2021.

Fall or winter is always a safe bet.

EDIT : Correction to this comment.

The posters in SKytrain stations actually say move in date is expected in 2022 and not 2021 like I indicated.
So in three years.
(...or so)

Went by, presentation centre is located to the north of here, where Noble's Home Furniture is on the map.

That's a hell of a deep pit.

What are we thinking? 6 or 7(heck, maybe 8) Levels?

Should be very early 2022. Late 2021 if all goes amazingly well.

Randomly got an ad for this building a while back, and it seems they've bumped up the floor count from 48fl to 53 floors. A quick search of this building and the official Thind website also confirms this. If true, this would be the building with the most floors in Metrotown (surpassing that of Station Square 5).

Klazu Oct 10, 2019 1:52 AM

I saw the same ad and was thinking if they are talking about fake floors or real floors? I am too lazy to count in the new diagram but I hope it would be 53. That would really make a statement!

Metro-One Oct 10, 2019 2:02 AM

Would a bump in height at this stage not affect how deep the excavation needs to go as well given the need for more parking?

Is this them just not counting floors with “4” in them and “13”?

Also why is there a post about the presentation Centre opening after excavation is already underway??
