A note I received from the Friends of HSPVA says groundbreaking is December 14 (at 2pm). Anyone want to see the Mayor and the School Board stick shovels in a sandbox?

From a webcam on 811 Main, there's already heavy equipment on site that has pulled up some of the asphalt.

Don't listen to photolith, he's jaded. Hear what they have to say and seek sound advice from experienced friends and family. It could be quite good.

They waited until late on a Thursday night to unveil this one. Another Stream project:

The latest labor market numbers from the Texas Labor Market Indicator just got released. Depending on which data survey you use, Houston created either 121,000 or 132,000 jobs between last October and this October. Total number of jobs is now 2,939,000. No wonder there are labor shortages in the construction industry (and the accounting industry and the oil and gas industry and...)

I saw the cranes from I-69 on the way into town tonight. Even at night, the activity is impressive.

On the left is the Marriott Marquis and Hampton/Homewood Suites. On the far right is Market Square Tower. When the roof at Minute Maid is open, there is a clear view of the 609 Main crane. To the far left (out of picture) is the crane for EADO Station. Soon to join are Capitol Tower, Catalyst, 6 Houston Center, Market Square Apartments, and others...

Here is a rendering of the hotel restaurant. Our partners at RIDA Development Corporation anticipate the 1,000-room hotel will be completed in the fall of 2016. In the meantime the worksite is an ant hill of activity with 1,350 workers!

Illinois manufacturer to expand its energy business in The Woodlands

"...Illinois-based Dover Corp. (NYSE: DOV) rebranded much of its energy business in The Woodlands from Norris Production Solutions to Dover Artificial Lift earlier this year and then acquired The Woodlands-based Accelerated Companies LLC at the end of September.

The next step in 2015 is to continue growing and consolidate Houston-area Dover Energy brands into about 30,000 square feet of to-be-determined office space in The Woodlands, said Paul Mahoney, president of Dover Artificial Lift. Dover is "currently evaluating" locations, he said..."
