1,000 more quotas for HK car trips over HZMB
The Standard Excerpt
Jan 26, 2023

The regular quotas for Hong Kong private and company drivers to cross into Macau via the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge (HZMB) will increase by 1,000 starting from the second quarter of this year.

The Transport Department announced on Thursday that the governments of Hong Kong and Macau have agreed to increase the regular quotas to a total of 2,800 to enhance traffic flow between the two places and better utilize the HZMB.

Since the commissioning of the HZMB, the Department has allocated 1,800 Hong Kong quotas. The additional 1,000 quotas will be distributed in two phases from the second quarter of 2023, with 500 to be allocated for company applicants and 500 for individual applicants.

Have you personally experienced any changes in the traffic flow between Hong Kong and Macau since the increase in quotas?

I've never experienced a traffic jam on that bridge. It's not really heavily used.
