Surrounded entirely by mountains, in many ways reflects the high plateau of Tibet (right here was shot the 1997 film with Brad Pitt, "Seven Years in Tibet"). BLANCAS HILLS Deseado Department - Santa Cruz Province http://imageshack.us/a/img96/9103/ba...argentina2.jpg Blancas Hills (“White Hills”) is a formation in the center of the great geologic district known as “Deseado Massif”. According to several investigations, this geological formation dates from the time of Middle and Upper Jurassic. Tea plants require at least 127 cm (50 inches) of rainfall a year and prefer acidic soils. A tea plant will grow into a tree of up to 16 m (52 ft) if left undisturbed, but cultivated plants are pruned to waist height for ease of plucking. In 2010, world tea production reached over 4.52 million tonnes. The largest producers of tea are the People's Republic of China, India, Kenya, Sri Lanka, and Turkey. Argentina is the ninth producer of tea at world-wide level, with 96,572 tonnes (in 2011) and is the only non Asian nor African country in the top 10. Temperatures average −1.2 °C (29.8 °F), rarely climbing above 15 °C (59 °F). What's interesting about Argentina is that, because of the country's north-south orientation, it has an even more immense variety of landscapes and climates than others its size.

Pampas (plains)-Several provinces in Central Argentina
The Pampas (plains) are fertile lowlands, covering more than 750,000 km2 (289,577 sq mi), that include the Argentine provinces of Buenos Aires, La Pampa, Santa Fe, Entre Ríos and Córdoba. These vast plains are a natural region only interrupted by the low Ventana and Tandil hills near Bahía Blanca and Tandil, with a height of 1,300 m (4,265 ft) and 500 m (1,640 ft) respectively. The climate of the Pampas is generally temperate and the dominant vegetation types are grassy prairie and grass steppe. The region is known for supporting extensive ranching and agriculture. NATIONAL ROUTE 60 IN CATAMARCA’S PUNA REGION Tinogasta Department - Catamarca Province http://imageshack.us/a/img96/9103/ba...argentina2.jpg National Route 60 is a 794 km. long road (493 miles) that goes through the provinces of Córdoba, Catamarca and La Rioja. It starts at National Route 9 near Villa del Totoral town (Córdoba). After crossing the Great Salt Plains located between Córdoba and Catamarca, different sections of the route serve as the border between La Rioja and Catamarca Provinces. LOS SAUCES RESERVOIR Capital Department - La Rioja Province http://imageshack.us/a/img96/9103/ba...argentina2.jpg Los Sauces ("The Willows") dam is located 15 km. (9 mi.) northwest of the city of La Rioja (provincial capital city); it stores the water from Los Sauces river and the artificial lake and surrounding area are interesting for camping, fishing activities and water sports.
