Squat and disappointing. Would have liked to see at least the 14 earlier rummored for this area. Isn't this in a high density Centre Plan district?

More disappointed this isn't taking the awful money mart with it.

Agreed. That would also have enabled a badly-needed move by the city to obtain a wider ROW for that part of Young St. for an eventual street widening there to deal with the traffic problems at that corner.

All of the buildings next to where this is proposed on Robie are unattractive. I don't get why the developer would want to have any of them next to their new building (and the Money Mart is the best of the worst).

I have no problems with tattoo shops, but the exterior of that building is pretty bad too.

Whats the deal with the lot next to the Eastlink building just off of Robie? The squat one close to Almon?

Am I missing something here? Does the developer own the lots containing the Money Mart and the tattoo parlour? If not, then why would they be removed for this project?

I agree that they are eyesores, but the Money Mart is not that old - it was built on the site of the old Robie Foods restaurant, so I don't imagine it is going anywhere soon.

I'm thinking that the loss of the Lion's Head will be a negative for the neighbourhood, but I don't live in the area, so can't say for sure. It does always seem to be busy when I drive by, though.

Im not sure the exact plan, but i was told a new lions head was going to be built on Robie, before current one comes down and this gets built. So i think there are plans for that strip, but will probably be done under current rules.

Apparently the kid of the Guy who owns Lions Head recently married one of the Fares kids.
