Nice pics and nice housing stock . . . do any of these houses have basements?
|
Very nice thread.
The pic of the bottle brush shrub brings back memories. We had one in front of our house when I was a kid. Haven't seen one since then. |

The main thoroughfare in College Park, Edgewater Drive, was given a road diet many years ago. At the time it was met with a lot of skepticism. Fast forward to present, and it has now become the local example of how to revitalize other "main street districts" in the region.

Gorgeous buildings!

we visited around here fairly recently -- this neighborhood really caught me off guard. its very nice, with lots of fun places to go or hang out in.
not sure, but i think its basically orlando's hipsterville. thumbs up for the hideaway lol. unfortunately, orlando has some of the worst traffic you can imagine. not edgewater dr necessarily, but in general. i don't like that aspect at all. |
Nice pictures. Are those Art Deco buildings all historic, or are any new?

All the Art Deco buildings were built in the mid 40s to early 50s. The newer structures have tended to go with the more neo-craftsman trend (although it would be great to see some modern buildings with Art Deco elements). Over in nearby Thornton Park, a recent highrise including a ground floor Publix was designed in the Art Deco tradition and looks great. |
