Good to see. I was in the Corner Brook area (Deer Lake, to be exact) for most of March. The terrain around Corner Brook is fantastic.

^The terrain around CB and Western Nfld is quite beautiful, but they are also pushing the quality of lifestyle as well. Tis area also has the Humber Valley Resort: http://www.humbervalley.com/ From what I have seen, the architecture is vastly superior to anything I have seen built in the city of St.John's. |

There's a real-estate business running in CB that caters to the German market. They're buying up a lot of the waterfront property on the island, especially around the Bras D'Or Lake. The Louisbourg golf resort/upscale housing project is also financed by a German real-estate company (I can't remember if it's the same one). I know there are similar trends, at least on the single family home level, happening throughout rural mainland NS. I'll try to find the company name and edit it in here.
Edit: Ah yes, Cape Breton Island Developers (I think they also run the real estate company marketing the land to prospective buyers from Germany). I don't know how to link to a specific post, but it's mentioned in the Sydney Developments thread...post 18. |

Timberland Golf Resort
Another new golf resort, Timberland, will be built in Western Newfoundland, located at Pasadena, near Corner Brook.

^sounds good. I'm guessing that, even moreso than CB, Newfoundland has been vastly underutilizing it's golf-course potential. I could see someone planning a couple new world-class courses on the island in the relatively near future. I admit though, I know nothing about golf courses on NL.

I made a trip out to Western Newfoundland for the first time last week and I must say I was extremely impressed. The photos you see online and in magazines do no justice to the area, it's all gorgeous. And Corner Brook is both larger and more beautiful than I expected.
Kudos to anyone from the West Coast, it really is somewhere to be proud of. |
Western Newfoundland Developments
^Western Nfld is seeing a substantial amount of resort development, the most impressive is the Humber Valley Resort.

I like that rendering. Will be a definite improvement on the current city hall.

Timberland Development
Timberland Golf Resort
This development is located near Pasadena, about 30 km N.E. of Corner Brook. There seems to be local opposition, government red tape, and boundary disputes holding up developments such as this one. Quote:

That should be good for Deer Lake, and the province in general, as it is close to Gros Morne, the airport, The Humber Valley and Corner Brook.
There is not enough development along the TCH in Nfld in general; it's hard to understand but it seems like you can drive for hours without seeing a thing between Deer Lake and Badger. __________________________________ More news about the Corner Brook City Hall development: Quote:
