Same for me, SCC worked for few hours this night but nothing now. :(

it was on-and-off for a coulpe of days for me, now always working.

DDOS attack is what happened.

SSC not working? I've never experienced that during the few days of the month I spent over there. Wonder why, oh well. Anyway I disliked being around those older immature (single) people that plague those forums.

Even if some lowlife got banned and are pissed why risk legal consequences and ruin a fun pasttime for 1000s..

Was it directed at SSC sopecifically or just the hosting company?


In any case I hope there's some system and legal involvement so whomever did it is brought to justice.. and the misused computers can be identified and clearned.. but knowing the internet when it comes to consequenses that's probable just wishful thinking from my part :(

In any case great to see SSC up and running again :yes:

Ever since the Canadians took over SSC it's been going down hill. The constant database errors are driving people nuts.

Jan isn't running it anymore??

I haven't logged in since November 2017. The UK Skybar gradually drove me insane, and the site as a whole took up way too much of my time.

PLUS now the new format, which I'm hating.

And even though I'm one of the few idiots who has become a Premium user and my main concern there is transports more than architecture, I'm REALLY not liking the new SSC format, or the fact that it's a XenForo thing.

I find this vBulletin a much better format to use, as a user.

The problem is when computer technicians/webmasters enter the room.
They twist everything to suit THEM, not to suit YOU.
And they don't give two shits if you're not satisfied.

Yes, I found this thread through Google. A lot of people are not happy with what is going on at SSC because of the ham-fisted switch to XenForo and the cookie cutter forum template being used. I advocated for the switchover before the current owners took over, but everyone knows that you can't run a XenForo forum vanilla and expect to have similar functionality as vBulletin. Now they have a confused user base and refuse to listen to them. With the Alexa ranking dropping for the forum, I wouldn't be surprised if some users migrate here honestly.

Other forums that use that software make it very user friendly, and certainly not waste valuable space on the side forcing all pictures to appear small and stuff.

An SSC moderator shared this in the VS bastards' community "feedback" thread. Boy, am I glad to have a place where I can publicly announce that I was given lifetime premium membership on SSC by a VS guy so that I would stop complaining about them. Ridiculous!
