How much do you all care about Scottsdale projects?

Scottsdale is always redeveloping but none of us seem to pay any attention to it. I have my work cut out for me updating the lowrise thread for the cities we do care about and am wondering if anyone cares otherwise.

Does anyone want to start the first post of a new Scottsdale thread so they can edit it and take it over? I tried this a while ago but long ago lost interest. Should I bother to include them in the lowrise thread?

Change thread name from "Phoenix Area" to "Phoenix". Problem solved.

Don’t really care. They don’t seem to want an urban environment despite having some advantages with old town. They are against high-rises as light rail. I have little interest in suburban development.

That's been slowly changing. They have as many 5-6 floor multi-family residential projects going up around town as Phoenix has. They may be against highrises and lightrail, but there a couple 10-15 story proposals in the works. I consider that a win all things considering. I agree with the anti-urban mentality, but they have been completing many denser projects the last few years which is at least a step in the right direction.

Why not two threads for development news?

Phoenix

and

Phoenix Suburbs (Scottsdale, tempe, etc.)

Scottsdale & Paradise Valley Development News - already has a thread.

right, I'm suggesting for easing the moderation workload and not having a zillion threads we merge it with the tempe and east valley thread to have a suburbs thread.

Prior to moving to midtown, I lived 17 years in oldtown. I enjoyed walking around, especially in winter, and listening to all the different languages being spoken. I know that is silly, but something I equate to being in a metropolitan area. I was recently in Manhattan and had the same feel. I know Scottsdale is very touristy, but I feel it adds to the cosmopolitan feel of our area. So my vote is to keep the Scottsdale thread as it is.

I care enough to keep this thread going.

Don't listen to Biggus - ever.

Yes, of course. I care *more* when the projects are "tall"er of course! But, yeah, I care about all impactful development in the Valley.
