HOUSTON | 3009 Post Oak | HEIGHT | 19 FLOORS

Sign appeared on the road in front of the site several weeks ago.

It will be a little over 300,000 sq. ft, and 19 stories tall. Located on the lot bordered by the 610 feeder, Hidalgo, and Post Oak, right across the street from the Waterwall near the Galleria. It will be built by Skanska USA and is 100% self-financed. Construction is expected to begin early this year, and be completed some time in 2012.

All of the pictures were taken from the brochure linked below. I just cropped out the company name banner at the top and bottom of each image to save space.

The only bad thing is that we will no longer be able to see the waterwall from the Loop 610. Over than that, great project.

Golyadkin Jan 7, 2011 1:41 AM

At that point on 610, people are working on a merge for the 59 interchange. I think it's probably best they don't have the distraction of the waterwall to interrupt that. ;)

Here's another picture from their website highlighting the location:

Their website also seems to be adding new information almost daily. Apparently there is going to be a mid-block stoplight on Post Oak for this building's parking garage entrance. Also, the 8th floor is going to have a fitness center as well as large dividable conference room capable of either 2 small conferences or 1 large on.

Not a bad project. Very kewl...

I'm excited. This, BLVD Place, and the Perennial (2200 Post Oak) are all being built within a 3 block stretch of Post Oak that I live on.

there is earth moving equipment on site, this may be under construction very soon

Another parking lot bits the dust, we can move this over to the construction thread real soon.

Does anyone know the occupancy rate of the Williams Tower?

Wattleigh Mar 6, 2012 2:16 AM

This one is now under construction... Here are some photos from last month from the GoingUpCity Blog.

All of the glass is up, and the garage is completely finished. They are just finishing up the interior work, and landscaping now.

(picture from Mar 1 - since it was taken, they have put glass around the white framing at the top of the front of the building)

Why oh why do they always make these pretty glass towers and then drop a terd parking garage right next to them? Why can't they at least cover the freaking parking garages with glass or at least make them a little more pleasing to look at? Concrete parking garages are the scourge of cities.

I question the same, the parking garage looks ridiculous! The tower itself is pretty nice though.

JManc Mar 23, 2013 5:22 PM

no one wants to pay to pretty up a parking garage with glazing and ornamentation.

Yeah but why spend all that money to make the tower look nice and then just drop a terd on it?

Double L Mar 23, 2013 6:21 PM

They've needed to develop that lot for a while.

Shasta Mar 25, 2013 4:30 AM

What really worries me is this is Skanska's first development in the city. They're the firm that is currently getting ready to demolish the Houston Club Bldg. downtown. If they throw something like this up in place of the Houston Club, I'll vomit.

photoLith Mar 25, 2013 8:36 AM

I thought the Houston club building was now not going to be torn down.

I thought the decision was made in 2012 to raise Houston Club? Unless Skanska reversed their decision?

This article is from 2012, though this is most recent info I can locate relative to the fate of the Houston Club:
