(I don't mean that as a knock on Houston.) I had no idea Atlanta's was so urban-- so many narrow streets, handsome architecture and great vistas. It seems really dense and pedestrian friendly. Thanks for sharing.

While I realize people's perspectives are different based on their personal experiences while visiting any place and that no two places are the same - but when I visited Houston over 10 years ago over 4-5 days including a weekend, Houston felt to me very dissimilar to Atlanta in many ways.

Nice thread.
You captured the crowds downtown for Dragon Con parade well.
If only the city could get that many people downtown all the time! :)

Nice thread. I love Atlanta, I want another Atlanta boom! ;-) Is the city still tanking?

Very nice shots! I've been to Atlanta a few times and I like it more each time I visit. It's a great city.

Just the usual bickering from the 'burbs about money for transit project like the Beltline and rail extensions up into Cobb and the like.

Dragon*Con was a lot of fun. There were also a lot of people in town for the UGA vs Boise State game. I've never seen that many people in Downtown Atlanta before.

Initially, I thought the building may be The Tabernacle or some place in the Fairlie-Poplar District. However the more I thought about it, I began to try picture south of Five Points and tried to mentally locate it in Castleberry Hill or Mitchell Street area.

Once I began to look south of Five Points, I'm rather confident it's not The Tabernacle but Mitchell Street. I believe its located at the corner of Mitchell and Forsyth streets and houses Friedman Shoes as its primary business.

Another vantage point would be this photo. If I'm correct (I'm rather confident that I am) it would be the last building on the left in the forefront of this photo.

^ Yes, you are correct. It is on that last building around the corner, facing Forsyth Street.
