MONTREAL | Tour de la Bourse | 625 FT / 190 M | 47 FLOORS | 1963
Designed by Italian architects Luigi Moretti and Pier Luigi Nervi, Tour de la Bourse (Stock exchange tower) was finished in 1963. At the time it was Canada's tallest skyscraper, the world's 20th tallest skyscraper and the tallest one in the world outside of the USA. The original plan was a set of three towers identical to this one but the plan never came through, unfortunately.

Epic, man, just epic!

One of my favourite buildings in Canada. Montreal has such great structures for it's tallest buildings.
Someone's got to have a photo of it with the great metro entrance. |
It's my favorite skyscraper in Montreal. It is fairly imposing at night, with the white corners subtly lit.
|
I love it!
|
Awesome!
|
Wow cool look at those Peregrine Falcons just sitting there. Ive only seen them a few times while birding over the years and your pretty lucky to have one nesting outside your office window lol. Im guessing thats your office but if not oh well.

Amazing! This building is so elegant!
|
At the beginning, they were supposed to build three identical towers.
I think that it's better to have finally just one. Unfortunately, and ugly building (an hotel) have been built at the other end of the podium. That's a building that I know well because I worked there for many years. The hall is nice and the spiral stair inside with it's huge glass lamp deserves a look. |
An oldie but a goodie. Built back when Montreal was THE place to be (still is, on some counts).
|
I love this building at night!

hi
i m writing you wondering if there is anybody who knows something more about the detail of the corner column. i m analyzing it in order to make a model of it and some drawings... please help me if you can, i would be very thankful. best regards Luca (from switzerland) |
This one aged very well, I was aware it was built in the 60s but it always had a bit of an 80s look to it. It's got some nice bulk to it.
|
I'm amazed how modern it looks for a building from the 60's... as rls said, it looks like its from the 80's. very forward thinking

Tour de la Bourse in Minecraft I'm making! It's not perfect or done, but it's getting there...
