Major League Baseball 2017

Just booked our tickets for the April 1st game in Montreal, and just need to get my flight now to Seattle to watch them with Vancouver friends in June. Figured it was time to start a new thread for the Jay's.

Don't local teams belong in the appropriate regional subforums? Or can I resurrect my Winnipeg Goldeyes thread here?

LOL same complaint that didn't last long last year. The Jay's are Canada's local team until Montreal gets a team back hopefully in the not so distant future. If you find the Goldeyes have some support and a large fan base nationwide then go ahead start a thread about AAIPB.

The Jay's are Canada's MLB team like it or not and they have a huge fan base coast to coast . It's impossible to go to a single game in Toronto or in the US withought seeing provincial flags NFLD seems to always represent. The Jay's success will play a big factor in Montreal getting their team back. The last three seasons have seen the west coast fan base explode as well. Just watch a Mariner home game against the Jay's and of the 34,000 fans in the seats an estimated 20,000 come from North of the border primarily Vancouver.

It's not often this vast nation can unite behind a single team so yes just like last year the Jay's belong here.

Haha if the Blue Jays played in Vancouver instead most people in Toronto wouldn't follow them.

TorontoDrew Mar 5, 2017 4:08 PM

We will never know.

mistercorporate Mar 5, 2017 4:34 PM

Dude, you know this thread is just flame bait right? You're gonna instigate all the petty anti-Toronto trolls. Sometimes soft power is better than in your face arrogance.

Yes let the trolls come out just like last year until they leave the fans alone to discuss the season. Last year's thread went through the same BS complaints for about a month until those forumers stayed away.

There is a reason why the team this year is focusing more on the entire Canadian market regardless of what a few provincialy minded people here might like to believe.

Ha - I thought this was going to be a thread for Canada's team in the World Baseball Classic. I was interested to see what the roster was, all I heard was Russell Martin and Michael Saunders were not going to/permitted to play.

Go Jays ! (BTW - never liked seeing the Jays in red uniforms)

Denscity Mar 5, 2017 5:09 PM

CANADA STEAM!

Post pics of your province's steam plants here.

DancingDuck Mar 5, 2017 9:02 PM

I hate the Jays simply because they're called "Canada's team", same deal with the raptors. They're both "Canada's team" by technicality...

(Nothing against Toronto as a whole, just the those two teams)

Beautiful antique steam train in Stettler, Alberta.

As soon as I read the title, I knew this thread would twist some panties.

WhipperSnapper Mar 5, 2017 10:36 PM

It's beginning is more about making a point than baseball. Nothing will distract certain forumers from giving their forum moderation opinions. It's better to ignore them than light the match.

BretttheRiderFan Mar 5, 2017 10:52 PM

I'm a huge Jays fan, but why should the Jays even be mentioned in the title?

Just call it Major League Baseball 2017 and you'd get a baseball discussion rather than a bunch of Toronto trolling. Seems like the OP is baiting people.

WhipperSnapper Mar 5, 2017 10:56 PM

I agree however, Jays in the title would still be better than posting their marketing campaign slogan.

Yeah, just removing the hashtag would be nice, the thread is fine other than that.
