Charlie Condos
http://www.charliecondos.com/ Render Here http://urbantoronto.ca/sites/default...-1551-4591.jpg Urban Toronto Database http://urbantoronto.ca/database/projects/charlie "Charlie defines mile high style. An urban ornament designed by Diamond + Schmitt Architects, Charlie represents the latest in architectural innovation. Contemporary clear glass stretches along the tower’s aluminum frame, while heritage brick, reminiscent of historic neighbourhood emporiums, secure the foundation. Elegant and evocative. Classic and contemporary. Drenched in designer details inside and out. More than just steel and stone – Charlie sets the stage for fashionable living in the city. Charlie’s neighbourhood is happening. It’s an eclectic destination that never sleeps. Front and centre to the entertainment district, you’re just minutes from Rogers Centre, The Air Canada Centre and Harbourfront. Check out the nightlife. Hit the streets and discover an exciting array of stylish restaurants, lounges, bars and clubs. For those who like to shop – no matter what direction you turn – you’re surrounded by some of the trendiest fashion scenes in the city. Trust Charlie to know where it’s at." from Urbantoronto.ca Database Construction photo from Jasonzed at UT http://i262.photobucket.com/albums/i...0110430158.jpg http://urbantoronto.ca/forum/showthr...chmitt)/page39 |
I can't help but think about Charlie the Unicorn when I read this title thread.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CsGYh8AacgY But the design of the tower isn't bad. Very nice filler. |
Overall I think it functions pretty nicely as filler. I cant help but be irked by the cheap lookin' exposed pillars though.

Just so you guys know, this one is up about 4 storeys now. I'll post some pictures later.

Judging by the renderings, this looks promising. And Great Gulf can usually be counted on to deliver a quality product. The block is going to be really dense when everything is complete.
|
Yeah, and considering the Charlotte condo is gonna be right next door.....
|
The area's looking dense already, but in couple of years it'll be :omg:

Almost forgot about this one.
Great for density building. |
What an awesome photo!
|
This is a map I compiled to show all the development in the Entertainment District. The blue are proposals and the green are under construction. As vegeta mentioned, this area will be pretty dense looking in the coming years.

Nice shots, damn M5V turned out ugly. It could have been such a nice building.

Charlie looks better than the rendering.
