I like the slender side.
Hopefully, the cladding will be semi-transparent like it shows in the rendering. |
Another Ritz?
These guys are building them like crazy |
|
Looks nice, but the one that they're building in Vancouver looks a lot nicer

At least from the side... the second image down: take a good look at it. Now go to the Vancouver Ritz Carleton and look at the original 167M proposal. It has the SAME box podium with the remainder glass, and the top is a taper "triangular" roofcap. Hmm... Coincidence? Or am I just seeing things? |
Hey Mininari, I noticed that too. When I saw the first rendering I was like, WHAT? They changed the design back to the old one?
But then I read the title and it said TORONTO and I thought this was kind of weird. I think they want to save money by building the old design and not having to design a new tower. Get what I'm saying? Also if anybody working for the Ritz reads this (which I hardly think will happen) Please make one in Seattle!! |
I love it..
I miss a picture of the backside though =/ |

I'm kind of out of the loop on this project. Is this the same one that had been proposed a couple of years ago for Toronto that would have been a 900 footer? Did they change plans, or is this a separate tower? I like the old design better I think. That spire was gorgeous.
Still, this one is good too. I really like the base. |
^^
Your probably thinking of the old Ritz location where the Trump tower is now going. The Trump Toronto will be over 900' and they just had the 'gold shovel' groundbreaking--but unlike the Ritz, Trump doesn't seem to be in a hurry. Both seem to to be well designed, imo. |
This Ritz Carlton is located at Simcoe street and Wellington street. The former Ritz (now Trump as Jaymckay mentioned) is located at Bay street and Adelaide street.

updates?

thats a pretty nice looking pit there. Looks like work is going good and looks pretty clean for a consturction site. Cant wait for some new updates.
