I'm kind of wondering whether or not they'll renovate 3701 Market. You know, since now it'll be a corner property with an entirely new street frontage.

12 floors is much better than what's there now.

CDR Submission for the February 2nd Meeting
I will pull renderings later. 3675 Market 15 floors 241 feet tall 325,000 square feet of office space Ground floor commercial/retail fronting Market and 37th Street http://www.phila.gov/CityPlanning/pr...n%20Review.pdf |
Not to exciting, but its bringing some density to market st which is always a good thing

These bland boxes are just that but the SciCenter's contribution to the city's economy is immense. I just wish that they would set aside one of their lots for a high profile, well-designed tower that stands above the squat glass buildings that mark the rest of the campus. Unless you're on Market Street, most workers, visitors, and even residents don't know that the Science Center exists. I'd love to see a highly visible statement making building that grabs people's attention and makes everyone know the Science Center is a vital cog in our economy.

Empirical science and aesthetics are at opposite ends of the spectrum . Not so surprised at its design .

While it's nothing spectacular, this is a HUGE improvement over what is currently there. It will liven up the street with retail and actually come up to the curb, all while providing good jobs. I don't think this building was ever intended to be the "flashy" tower of the Science Center complex, but I'll be at least two of the future buildings will be a little more aesthetically pleasing. For me, however, the most important aspect of the project is breaking up the super-block and continuing the street grid. It will make a huge difference in that area.

I wonder how long it will be before we see plans for the entire UC HS site behind this.

Pg. 8 of CDR,
Looks like its actually 313.8 ft tall. |

It would make sense that this is the height since 3737 Market was 13 floors and 221 feet tall and 3601 Market is 28 floors and 320 feet tall. It's not as close as 3601 Market in height in the renderings as only being a 7 foot difference. |

I like this building, nice design for a short tower. In 20 years we will all be hoping they demolish all of these shorter towers for high rises though, but what can you do, its great for the area right now. |
