R@ptor's SHANGHAI

I suppose most of you are already familiar with my thread ‘R@ptor’s World’ : http://forum.skyscraperpage.com/showthread.php?t=181144 which I update almost daily with photos from my travels around the world.

In addition to this I decided to created a thread with my Shanghai photos, which will be updated with 3-4 photos daily, similar as what Minato Ku and Freki are already doing in their Paris and Copenhagen threads.

I had the chance to go to Shanghai when I lived in Beijing, never did, kick myself in the butt for not going! Theres a fair amount of the old city left right? I think they preserved them with city ordinances, at least thats what I remember reading like 1o years ago. Beijing was destroying a lot of their ancient city, really a shame, although historic preservation is starting to catch on there as well, but a little too late for a lot of the city.

I didn't know one could go to the top of Shimao International Plaza. The view is awesome !
Is there a bar or a restaurant ?

Love it! A friend of mine did an ex-pat promo of Qi Bao a few years ago. (she's the girl-horribly poor production)

There's quite a bit left of the Old Town in the south of shanghai, but unfortunately it is torn down pretty fast. I never heard of any city ordinances to preserve that district BTW.

There is a bar on the 66th floor. However, the shot was taken from a conference room on the 65th floor where our company hosted an event. Too bad the weather sucked at that day.

If I remember correctly, the architecture in Yuyuan Garden was as fake as can be. But I enjoyed the lively atmosphere, apart from the incessant traffic of the city.

Very sharp photos, great captures!! I honestly don't fancy Shanghai very much, but it sure is fascinating. Truly, urban madness.
