Journey three hours west and north by train to the Jutland Peninsula, where we encounter Aarhus, Denmark's second city. Aarhus is both a major port city and a university town.

Aalborg, Denmark's fourth largest city (either 100k or 200k, depending on which level of municipality/region is measured). It is the northernmost big-ish city in Denmark, sitting at 57 N degrees of latitude. It replaces Calgary as the furthest north I've been.

Malmö, Sweden's third largest city, sits across the Öresund bridge from Copenhagen. It is about 30 minutes by train. Passports were not checked in either direction

Love the zoom shots of the Oresund Bridge and the diversity of this thread. I really live close by, from an American point of view, but I never visited Denmark for some reason.

My knowledge of Copenhagen is rather limited in comparison to other European cities so this was a definite eye-opener! So many great views!!!

European city planners have it made. It seems like they never had to worry about advocating the whole mixed-use, continuous street wall, complete streets philosophy. They must just play computer games all day.

Interesting how the street lighting is exterior High Bays pendant mounted from cables suspended form the buildings. I never seen that before, but my travels are limited.

coming from the filthy streets capital, i have to say i was most impressed by the spotless streetscapes. thats what caught my eye every time!

You create the most amazing threads Thundertubs. Copenhagen looks like it has really changed since I was there 40 years ago. Some amazing architecture, and some that I don't care much for. That wind farm was hideous! Thanks for this great thread.

So many sides to Copenhagen I've never even seen!
