Gorgeous photography

Midwest majesty.

Great set. You took some artistic license with your processing and you used it well. That is unfortunately a rare thing among photographers.

It´s always very interesting seeing Chicago again! Different style of photography, but I like it.

Thanks for sharing and greetings from Madrid, Spain.

Thank you. The graphic artist in me can't help but tinker. The photographer in me can't help but take pictures that require tinkering.

I thought my friends were joking when they said that on Saturday night....

Had Nola not been pitching, I would have switched tickets to Saturday. Oh well. Got to see the kids first win!

Thank You!

Ok, that's it, it is next on the list.

urbanroo Aug 18, 2015 2:13 AM

Beautiful. I like the b&w shots of Wrigley.

pdxtex Aug 18, 2015 10:55 PM

in regards to location, form and scale with the surrounding topography, or lack thereof, Chicago is in my opinion is the absolute finest modern skyline on the planet. its not ringed by huge mountains or other distractions, its a giant manmade mountain range on flat mesa and right next to an inland ocean. its perfect. thanks for the pics.....

Thank you! It kinda felt like the game should have been in b&w while watching a game there.

Agreed, right down to the nearly perfect street grid. I'm having trouble thinking of another city of that size that topographically matches it.

Great, great set. I'm gonna tell you what makes this a great thread and not just a good thread. A good thread captures a city. A great thread captures the soul of a city, and that's exactly what you've done.

Toronto does a good job in the skyline symmetry department. The view from center island is pretty awesome. It got the great lake thing going for it too.

Thanks! I can't take all the credit, Chicago was a great model through the whole process. She was very professional, despite all of my advances towards her.

Very true. But from what I've seen, the topography is (slightly) hillier in Toronto, and the streets are a little less of a grid. But overall, they definitely seem to be the closest comparisons.

maru2501 Sep 28, 2016 9:56 PM

missed this. bravo

Murphy de la Sucre Sep 29, 2016 12:22 AM

Typical Chicago as usual but what about those skulls? Are they vodka cups or real or replicas?
