Saying this is the greatest Queens thread ever is like saying the sky is blue.

Another incredible thread.

Ahh I love this tour now I'm having withdrawals and I need to visit New York again soon. Thanks for sharing.
I have a friend that live in Long Island City. He's never been to LA, but I kept telling him his neighborhood reminded me a lot of the Artists District, a neighborhood between downtown LA and Boyle Heights. http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2608/...15ec7b50_b.jpg |
Great Queens photo synopsis. My first NYC home. When I lived in Queens, I couldn't wait to move to Manhattan. Then once I lived in Manhattan, I kept finding myself in Queens for some reason...

Other than a quick drive through on the way to the airport from Manhattan, I've never seen much of Queens. Looks nice from your photos. Thanks!

Only a meathead couldn't find something to love in Queens.
|
Good work! Loving it~
|
Those rowhomes you took pictures of in Ridgewood recently became protected as a new historic district in Queens, they are so beautiful. Ugh, you have no idea how badly I want to live in and or around NYC, its just not fair :(
|
Ridgewood is a beautiful neighborhood that has preserved most of it's beautiful housing stock. It's still a very homey place with tons of character, definitely my favorite neighborhood in Queens. Looks and feels a lot like Brooklyn to me too. Nygirl, it still amazes me how much work you put into all this. The entire immediate metro area all covered. Now that's thinking outside the box. Props to you ma'am.

great thread!

Pardon my ignorance, why is South Jamaica called South Suicide?
|
This series really gives a sense of the staggering immensity and diversity of New York urbanity. It's a real treat.
