Thanks stepper. I was hoping you'd get to Marin sometime soon.
Marin County is a place of small, quaint downtowns and Mill Valley's is right up there. It's a little more on the upscale side as far as the majority of shops, but still a great place to spend the day. And the Mill Valley Market, which you shot, makes a great sandwich if you can wait to get it (long lines).
As for the weather, parts of Mill Valley can be as cold and foggy as certain neighborhoods of the city. But Larkspur is generally pleasant and warm. If it's foggy there, it's socked in pretty much everywhere. Typically, the fog will be rolling into the FiDi when I leave work and it will be sunny and 5-10 degrees warmer when I get off the boat in Larkspur. Same with the mornings. Most mornings when I leave (around 6:30) there is no fog in Larkspur, except when the marine layer is particularly deep. It does get pretty windy though.
One note of trivia: that trestle you shot used to cross over Sir Francis Drake (that part has been demolished). This was the spot Clint Eastwood jumped onto the school bus in the climax of Dirty Harry. The old mill where he finally killed the bad guy is now Larkspur Landing, which is in several of your photos (the fountains, etc).
