HOUSTON | General Developments
As the number of developments being planned for Houston grows, it's time for the # of topics on Houston to expand as well. This thread is for everything below 12-floors, or 115' ft. From new apartment buildings, to transportation projects, to new green spaces, there's a lot going on here.
* Some projects not listed because renderings are not yet available. _________________________________________________ UNDER CONSTRUCTION/RENOVATION _________________________________________________ Code:

Finally! Great work as usual Urbannizer! I love all this development!

Wow. I visit the Houston compilation thread daily, and didn't realize all these projects were going on. It's almost confusing haha! I would like to put these projects to a map to get a better sense of it all. Nice work!

I don't know if this goes here, but it is interesting to see The Texas Medical Center's efforts to move from a purely nonprofit institution to a biomedical hub that incorporates both nonprofit and for profit companies working together. The TMC is definitely is going to be the next big development area with the growing number of projects in the pipeline. I like the direction and economic diversification Houston is going through right now, just feel like we need a similarly prestigious entity to lead the city's efforts to turn Ellington into a spaceport and other similar expansions in the aerospace industry.

Another cruise terminal in Galveston?

Say, are there any updates on Alexan Heights? What's the status there? I remember seeing a re-design of the project that I liked a lot, but can't seem to find it now.

So is the Montrose, Houston's funkiest crash pad over the years, losing all its character?

And if the "poets and artists" are really having to relocate to Acres Homes and Westbury, then I am not going to feel sorry for them - because they could easily just move to 2nd Ward and other areas just east of downtown that have their own character and cheap rents. (Seriously, how is Acres Homes the alternative to Montrose?) |
A convention center may be in the works for Sugar Land. Right next to the performing arts center - perhaps.

I like the 1800 San Jacinto development. Also, I've always loved the bell tower of the co-cathedral. Looks like a skyscraper in miniature. Reminiscent of the Transco.
