the greenbelt and river in the Veterans State Park area. March 31
Thanks eastidaho. It is going to start getting crazy in a few more weeks, spring that is. The Boise River is supposed to hit flood stage Tuesday and it is only the first week of April.
Stenar, thank you. I like that building too. I will have to find out when it stopped operating as a bow and arrow store. http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j2...l/DSC_0122.jpg http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j2...l/DSC_0134.jpg http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j2...l/DSC_0135.jpg http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j2...l/DSC_0151.jpg http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j2...l/DSC_0154.jpg http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j2...l/DSC_0163.jpg |
Beautiful Sawtooth... This thread brings sanity to this forum which has seen a lot of insanity the past 4 to 5 days. Your pictures clear the mind after reading some of the discussion going on in other threads.

I agree. Thanks for beautiful shots Sawtooth! |

All nice, I like the last one with the greenbelt tunnel and the river. I bet that any ducks that had built their nests along the river are pissed off because their nests have been washed away.

Wonderful photos sawtooth!

Sweet pics Sawtooth! What kind of camera did you end up going with?
|
Awesome job Sawtooth, thank you for snapping these and posting them here. I got inspired by looking through some of your previous photos to go out and snap some pictures of the Treefort Music Festival. I might go out again and get some photos while Spring is blossoming. The composition of your photos and your ability to capture all the fine details and little quirks throughout Boise is really great, and something I definitely look up to. :)
http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j2...l/DSC_0236.jpg Man, I say this again and again, but the Transit art was such a great idea. I hope more things like this are implemented throughout Boise. |

I don't understand why they installed new bus stop shelters. Aren't we supposed to get a new transit center? Anyway, good pics sawtooth, your tour represents a pretty long bike ride. I love the green lawn at the Sewage Treatment Plant, they must fertilize it a lot. Have you ever checked out the Sewer Plant building itself? It's art deco and I keep meaning to post some pics of it. |
Thanks everyone for the comments. Boysee Boi, I bought a Nikon D5100 and in the process of purchasing another lens or two for it. It is a completely different animal compared to my worn out point and shoot.
BoiseAirport, thanks for the nice compliment:) If you end up taking any photos feel free to post them here. boisecynic, I have seen the sewage plant building a few times and it is a cool building. Do you know what year it was built? I found it humorous how the lawn near the sewage plant was lush green before the rest of the grass along the belt and parks was beginning to green up. Zamzows? |

do you take requests? :D
i'd love to see someone do a "greenbelt tour" photo thread with images from lucky peak all the way through the city, and post it in the photo forum so people really get a sense of what a jewel this is. i tell people from out of town about the greenbelt, and they just shrug their shoulders and say "meh, we have bike paths and parks, too." and then they visit, and go "oh. nice!" |

I agree it is a jewel, the greenbelt, the river and parks and the protected wildlife areas are really amazing. Quote:
City Of Trees, maybe we have seen or passed each other on our bikes in the past. |
