The project provides Mandarin Oriental with a further opportunity to extend its prestigious brand into another key US destination. Mandarin Oriental, Dallas will open in the city’s dynamic new Victory Park development, a USD 3 billion, 75-acre, mixed-use project located in the heart of Dallas. I never seen that rendering of the building. What a great building this will be for Dallas.
|
The rendering looks great but I see more concrete in the real design than I do in the renderings.

The building isn't u/c yet. Perhaps you are (alternately) referring to the view of construction going on right next to the Victory Tower site, which is the 'W Victory Dallas Hotel & Residences' North & South Towers - as seen in the background of the last two 'site' photos above.
The Victory Tower site is the array of dirt in the foreground of the latter two 'site' photos. |

They have finished assembling two cranes as of this time last week. Haven't been back over since, but I doubt they have gotten very far.
I like this building, it's going to look great next to the W hotel. |
What's up with this building? Not much conversation on the beauty.

I drove by it Monday evening, and I could see first story columns from I35. I was at the wheel, so no pictures, but there is visible progress above ground.
|

Photos, anyone?

I am having a hard time with the math on this. 43 stories and 650 feet? With no spire (just a tall PH or restaurant on top). That means average floor height is over 15' per floor. That would be very generous for an office building, but hotel? Even if the PH and ground floor were double height. 15' per floor in a hotel is almost unheard of.
