Okay, take down those crappy flags, ew, OTHER than that, what an amazing building! I've seen it in the diagrams, but I dont think I've ever actually seen a real life shot of it! I'll go search for some more pics

I LOVE this building. Definitely in my top 10 favorite Asian buildings.

The greenery should be more abundant. This building could easily become the first real vegetal skyscraper, with actual gardens in the sky. The other attempts have either been too timid or failed altogether. |
Actually, cheesy as they are, I like the flags. They add a certain high-altitude Himalayan flavor, recalling the traditional flag strings of the Himalayan cultures.
Another note - the architect drew inspiration for the design from a bamboo shoot, imitating the lateral membranes inside bamboo cores. |
I would certainly say that's unlike anything I've seen before.

Its like Commerzbank,Turning Torso and postmodern boxes all combined into something unique. Very cool

!! I had no clue it was shaped like this, man you only see this tower from one angle.

Awesome angle. This was such a fun building to walk around.

This building is BEAUTIFUL! :dancing:
I had no idea it curved like. I love the hanging gardens on the balconies, too! Leave the flags alone, Patrick! They add character, IMO |
complex
While interesting, I think the shape of the building is too complex looking from the ground level. If you are at an elevation where you can see the building from the mid point, like that last picture, I agree it is beautiful, but most people will not see it at that level.

I like this building from some angles, I dislike it from others.
|
I got dizzy scrolling through the pictures. It is amazing to look at. Does is have any kind of humane presence on the ground. It looks kind of set apart from the street in some of the pictures.
|
I really hate this building. It seems like it wants to be several buildings at once, failing at each, and becoming an unclear mess without any clear meaning or tangible focus. Blech.
|
Cool. I had completely forgotten about this building, even though I remember us watching the construction here on the forum. It's for sure one of my favorites in Asia.
