This looks pretty legit!
Hell, we could use something like this downtown to replace one of the many balcony boxes going up. Too bad this tower's podium is a bit weak. |
unfortunately, most towers out of the core have horrible suburban bases. just because everything around you is suburban doesn't mean your tower should be suburban, in my opinion.

The cladding is pretty nice though!
|
I'm going to go get us a photo update of this tower, soon. It appears to be close to being topped out and cladding is up to around the half way mark. I still think it looks pretty average, but considerably better than Tridel's previous Essex phases, and way better than Pemberton's crap going up at Islington station.
|
Thanks, that would be nice!

Parc Nuvo at Dundas and Kipling, right next to the Kipling Subway station.
http://i1128.photobucket.com/albums/...ario/006-3.jpg The Tridel standard for cladding (spandrel). http://i1128.photobucket.com/albums/...ario/007-3.jpg http://i1128.photobucket.com/albums/...ario/005-3.jpg Photo's by me from today. |
oh man, some crazy spandrel here... the design in the renders didn't look too bad, but the cladding.. :yuck:
|
I actually like the cladding. For a condo like this, it's pretty good.
|
I think it looks good too. The Diagram Page says this is 122 meters tall (400 feet), but the thread title says 113 meters. Which figure is the real one?
|
The renders evoked a Gotham City feel. The finished product is more or less Cityplace quality. I'm not suprised though.
At least it's a little better than the previous phases. I like the aluminum vertical details (the only non spandrel detail) |
