Syracuse is awesome.

Great pictures and great architecture. Thanks for sharing.
Syracuse looks very nice. I see very interesting buildings there, some of them are really awesome. I´d like to visit Syracure and the whole northern side of the state of New York. Congrats and greetings from Madrid, Spain. |
Nice shots! Syracuse has great bones. The Niagara Mohawk building is a masterpiece of Art Deco. If I ever moved back to upstate New York it would probably be my first choice to live in. It really ought to be upstate New York's Madison or Ann Arbor but the region is in too much of a long term cultural and economic funk to have one. Maybe it can aspire to being a smaller Pittsburgh.

Stunning set of building stock, sometimes I wish I was out east just for that.

Amazing architecture! Thanks for posting your photographs.

Wow! A lot of wonderful, well-preserved architecture in Syracuse. I had no idea, even though I've driven past the city several times on the way elsewhere.

Wonderful city.

Great pictures and a stunning collection of great buildings.
That said, as an outsider that spent 4 years in the Finger Lakes for college, I enjoyed Rochester a lot more than Syracuse. |
Great pics! awesome sweet potato fries and maple butter. the "Bull and Bear" on Water street...Syracuse has some great bones for sure..Luv that old Art Deco style..We just don't see much of that up here...It's funny how if Syracuse was a Canadian city it would be considered a major one in the same vein as a Winnipeg or a Hamilton...Thanks for posting, and I hope to catch an Orange game sometime..

Canadian cities tend to have larger populations than U.S. counterparts because Canadian city boundaries are over-bounded instead of under-bounded. Hamilton, for example, has an area 17 times that of Syracuse. Hamilton city - 519k in 1,138.11 km2 Winnipeg city - 145k in 66.4 km2 When comparing Metro populations, Syracuse is clearly on the same tier as Hamilton and Winnipeg. The big difference is that Syracuse ranks as the 80th largest metro in the U.S. while it would rank as 10th in Canada... being perceived as a "big city" in a country with so few large urban areas. Metro Winnipeg - 730k Metro Hamilton - 721k Metro Syracuse - 662k Using your method, we could say something ridiculous like "Calgary is twice the size of Denver", when in reality Calgary is half a Denver. |
Great tour! Downtown Syracuse has an amazing collection of beautiful buildings!

^ thank you Evergrey..Yes, I made that statement fully aware of Syracuse's Metro population...Just ignore Allen..He makes blanket statements without barely any research or common sense.
