Never Built Sports Stadiums

I've been surfing the internet some this week and I've noticed there have been a lot of proposed stadiums get canceled over the years. They include..

Yankee Stadium with a Retractable Roof
Mets Ballpark with a Retractable Roof
Dome in Baltimore
Dome in Brooklyn
Giants Stadium in Brooklyn
Stadium in Sacramento
Yankees Ballpark in New Jersey

I'm having problems posting the renderings of these. Does anyone else have renderings of these or any other proposed sports venues that were never built?

Hard to believe that would have held 400,000. I think the first stadium to reach that will be the Big House in Michigan someday although that day is far far away.

Nah, Rungrado May Day Stadium in Pyongyong is bigger than the big house and would have a better chance. A giant, useless, money sink of a stadium like that would have to come from a crazy regime/personality cult like the Nazis or North Korea.

Poplar Point Stadium was a proposed stadium for DC United, of Major League Soccer. It would have held 27,000. It was proposed earlier this decade and died... oh... about three years ago.

This may not count since it was a proposed renovation and not new construction, but it's unlikely to ever be done. The proposed remodel of the LA Coliseum to try and lure and NFL team to LA...

Here is one that was one floated back in the mid 80s for Chicago. It involved two stadiums for both the Sox and Bears right next to each other in downtown in the Fulton River District. Now these plots have been taken by new residential towers over the last ten years. The location would have been pretty awesome being so close to Metra/CTA and the expressways and would have had some real nice transit and scenic perks.

There were also some also pretty intriguing ideas thrown around like putting in the New Comiskey in the South Loop and the Bears to play at a new McCormick Place complex etc. that never came to fruition but nonetheless would have turned out interesting.

After reading about this Armour Field I think it would have been real cool. It seemed like a much better proposal than New Comiskey. An old ballpark type feel with a polo grounds type field, that's really cool. But then again u never know what something is going to be like until it's built and well established.
