SimCity Time-Lapse
I've created a short time-lapse flash animation of my growing city, called Omnipolis on SC3K.
It will take some time to load though.. http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e2...mnipolis-1.swf |

now that was pretty sweet

Thanks! :D
It isn't quite completed yet, though I'll continue to work on it and see where it leads. I feel it's fascinating to watch a city develop, expand, and evolve over time. The city is no more than about 200 sim years old, but I plan to completely cover the map, engulf the mountains, build over the lakes, then quite possibly make a momentary twist where nature decides to turn on humanity; floods will prevail, earthquakes rumble, shattering and ripping the city into many pieces, tornadoes wipe clean and spread their devastation across the landscape, and so forth...It primarily aims at depicting the rise and fall of humanity, in a hope to make others aware of the reality we live in, rather than living in a fantasy world covered with layers of illusions like a mask. EDIT: My main inspiration for this work was from a silent movie called, 'Kooyanisqatsi'. I hope I've sparked off some interest on the concept here :) |
Well done!

I really badly miss SC3K
|
Baa-dap-baa-baa-bahh...I'm lovin it.
|
That is really neat... when the new sim city comes you'll have to show us all how to do that!
|
I'm sure they will have a feature that can allow you to do something similar in the new simcity ;)
As far as how I made it, I basically took screen shots every 10 minute intervals, and made a flash animation of it using macromedia flash 8. |
awesome.

Very cool. Love the terrain of that city. I bet it was fun developing. Do you have a still shot of the city from that level?
|
I can never get it to load at all :haha:
