Five people, 3 adults and 2 children, ages 4 and 6 years old are dead, one baby, a one year old, was taken out of the home alive.
The bodies were discovered around 10 am this morning.
Police and other emergency crews are investigating this major incident that happened at a home in the 5500 block of Dalhart Hill N.W.
The scene has rocked city police, the first officers at the scene are now undergoing peer support treatment for what they have witnessed and it has even shocked 30 year veteran officers.
We have CTV News crews on the scene.
We will continue to update our website as soon as more information becomes available, and we will have the latest on this situation on our news at noon today.

Sounding like murder-suicide. A few details are starting to come out, but from what they were reporting on the radio the family is saying that it sounded like the father may have had a mental breakdown, supposedly his parents were supposed to be coming to town to come help but this happened first. The father was reportedly working on his masters in architecture at U of C and interning at one of the local firms so its possible that a few people from this board may actually know him.

Global is saying he was an Architect for Cohos Evamy Architects. I don't know this particular guy, but I know a few people who work there. Very sad story indeed.

^Crap, that's sad. Easy and free access to counseling is important. I thought I already understood that, but it really hits home with these stories some days. One of these murders/muder suicides ended up being a guy I played tennis with as a kid. Really nice guy, fun to be around. It's just so screwed up sometimes. You just can't really know who needs help sometimes.

A man was shot to death in an apparent running gun battle on an Agincourt street corner Wednesday evening.

Residents heard as many as five gunshots and the sounds of screeching tires on Bonis Ave. near Birchmount Ave. and Sheppard Ave. East at about 11:20 p.m.

When police arrived they found the victim sprawled near the sidewalk at the rear of the Agincourt Mall.

Paramedics worked to revive the victim, believed to be in his early 20s, but he was pronounced dead at the scene about 20 minutes later.

Witnesses told police they saw two men dressed in dark clothing running east towards the rear of the mall, firing guns in the direction of the victim as they fled.

A minivan was seen leaving the area, heading westbound on Bonis Ave. after the gunfire.

Residents in a strip of townhouses at the scene thought they heard firecrackers because the sound of fireworks had been a common occurrence in a nearby park over recent weeks.

Officers cordoned off Bonis Ave. for two blocks as well as part of the plaza's parking lot.

A tracking dog was brought to the scene.

Police have identified a teenager shot to death in an apparent gun battle last night on a northeast Toronto street corner.

Levis Taylor, 17, of Toronto, was pronounced dead at the scene on Bonis Ave., in the Sheppard Ave. E and Birchmount Ave. area, police said.

Officers arrived at the rear of the Agincourt Mall around 11:20 p.m. to find Taylor suffering from obvious gun shot wounds.

Residents reported hearing as many as five gunshots and the sounds of screeching tires.

Witnesses said they saw two men, dressed in dark clothing running east toward the rear of the mall, firing guns in the direction of the victim.

Two men were seen getting into a white car, similar to a Honda, which drove east on Bonis Ave., police said.

Taylor is Toronto’s 21st homicide victim of 2008. He was one of two young men shot to death yesterday. A post mortem is scheduled for Friday.

This happened in a quite nice, normally peaceful neighbourhood in Scarborough! My wife and I just came back from there Wednesday evening (May 28) from visiting relatives who live in a condo along Bonis Ave., near Kennedy Rd., at the south perimeter of Tam o'Shanter golf course, and we were staying at one of the guest suites in one of the other buildings of the same condo development site. Scary, because each night at about 11:30 - midnite 'ish, we'd have to walk back to our suite along Bonis Ave. (about 5 minute walk between buildings) across the street from and facing the backside of Agincourt mall! Our relatives, who can also see that side of the mall, said there were a lot of police cars around there that night!

The Ottawa Police Service is waiting for autopsy results to confirm the cause of death for two people found dead in an Orleans home this weekend.

Officers responding to an emergency call from a home on Cote Royale Cr. Saturday evening found the bodies of a man and a woman.

Major Crime Investigators have said the deaths are an apparent murder-suicide, but have released few details about their investigation.

An autopsy will be conducted today in Kingston.

The deceased have been identified as 28-year-old Alicia Bateman, who lived in the home, and 28-year-old Ryan Sawchuk of Calgary.

The Ottawa Citizen reports the two were engaged to be married, but broke up a week ago.

The Ottawa Sun reports Sawchuk booked a flight to Ottawa from Calgary Saturday morning.

This is Ottawa's third murder of 2008.

Things are looking good for Ottawa this year with only 3 murders so far. I can't believe Winnipeg is at 17 already, that is ridiculous. Maybe my friends and relatives in the city who are scared to go downtown really do have a reason to be scared.

right now they are up at over 32 murders..............that is really bad for Vancouver

Toronto is only at 36 for GTA.......so it looks like we are going to be competing for who has the most murders this year :hell:

Halifax's 5th yesterday. 65 year old stabbed to death near Uniacke Square.

That adds to a murder-suicide about a week ago where a son killed his 75 year old mother before doing himself in.

•The body of a 65-year-old man who had been stabbed to death was discovered Sunday near St. Patrick’s-Alexandra School on Maitland Street in Halifax. The investigation continues.

Cavery and yesterday's murder both happened in Uniacke Square, our ghetto. Its a rough place to live and a lot of locals live off of welfare. Unlike the T-dot Halifax's murders are usually located in certain areas; Uniacke Square, Highfield Park/Albro Lake and Spryfield. So far 4 out of 5 have happened in these general areas.
