New York City from the top of the Chrysler Building

A rare view of the city, unknown to most New Yorkers. Observation deck on the upper floors of the building was still closed in the mid ’40s, and the room converted into an office. Now there may be accessed by more clout or illegally. The second is very difficult, but not impossible. The photos are just out of this illegal expedition to the summit of the most beautiful New York skyscraper. I am sure that the security service building has drawn conclusions and repeat something similar in the near future is unlikely.

Still the classiest tower in town. . .(and in the world as far as I'm concerned).

This building sets the bar extremely high in terms of elegant design. Everything that a skyscraper should be. Peerless.

I think it would have looked better if the corner notches extended all the way down the building.

This building is everything skyscrapers double it's height want to be. A true classic.

It's doubtful New York itself can do better, though there are some great designs coming...

When God said "Let there be skyscrapers...", this was pretty much the idea.

it is fitting that the most glorious skyscraper ever built is golden.

These vintage shots are pretty sweet. For some reason, just knowing how much it has changed, and how it use to look, gives an alien feeling. It just seems so.... different in many ways.

Like if you are seeing the city all over again, in a past life. A sense of rebirth in essence.

Meanwhile... 80+ years later, the Chrysler building looks tiny. Like Trumps hands.
