Your city hall
What does the town/city hall of the place you live in look like?

Our City Hall is not-so-affectionately known as the Bunker. I actually quite like the interior; it's a nice contrast from the rest of the city:

^so sad they got rid of the old one, I guess it had become too small. The new one doesn't look very good IMO...

Basically if you took London's city hall and pushed down on it, making it spread out a bit and gave it a much bigger forecourt, you get Hamilton's (well ok, not a great comparison but they both have the council chambers on stilts in front thing):

Since Vancouver has already been done, here's one of Halifax's city hall:

Our Confederation Building was based on Vancouver's City Hall. If only ours was half as good looking... I love that building, and generally don't appreciate that sort of style.
I love Stratford's too. Halifax's has one of the best settings. http://i60.tinypic.com/4k8fuw.jpg Bing Bird's Eye View It seems Edmonton's is well-placed as well: http://i62.tinypic.com/b9i0s4.jpg Bing Bird's Eye View |

Absolutely love Stratford's!
In my opinion, the most unique in Canada: http://www.blogto.com/upload/2010/11/20101102-potd.jpg I used to dislike it... But it's unique architecture, it's presence, it's interaction with the public (Nathan Phillips Square) and the fact that it represents a symbol for TO (the city logo) make it special. |
