Floor to Ceiling/Floor to Floor Elevations in Buildings...
 

I hope it wasn't asked before (if so I apologize), but...

I'm curious to know what the secifications are for Floor to Ceiling/Floor to Floor when it comes to Buildings and High-rises.

I'm reckoning 9 feet from ceiling to floor, probably 12 feet for main lobbies and such.

I'm new here in the Forum and I use Google SketchUp to create some concepts - it can be fun/addictive sometimes.

I reckon that it varies. I know that from floor to ceiling on a house or living space is 8 feet (door height is probably 6' 7")....

It varys. whats more important is floor - floor height as ceiling voids vary. As a guide, and this is just a guide for residential i would say 10ft (3.05m) with 10'' concrete floor deck. For commercial 13-15ft (3.96-4.57m), usually containing air-con ducting, electrics etc.

The most common is 3.3m to residential buildings, 50cm for hvac and other instrumental devices and tubes, cables.. etc... In recent times, some are made with 3.5m in average.
For commercial and office ones is common 4m. For lobby double height, you can consider 8 or 10m. This is the base we use to estimate height in diagrams as well.

In most modern buildings floor to ceilings are 8-12 feet with commercial on the higher side and residential on the lower end.

The space between floors is around 2-3 feet, but it can be as small as a foot or bit less if the air conditioning and other things are located on top, under or outside of the building.
